User Summary: Ten years ago, the Earth was invaded by aliens who disabled all of the planet's electricity due to their own vulnerabilities. You have decided to somehow find a way to free the Earth's population and restore power to the world.
Countersound's Thoughts: I have read this book numerous times, and I have to agree that it was very well written in my opinion. Many CYOA books deal with aliens and spaceships, but this one goes in a different direction, where the action takes place after the aliens have already taken over and basically forced everyone to cease using electricity, while still having skyscrapers and street lights that are useless. The goal is to reclaim the Earth for humans, and the way to get that is not as easy as it looks, which is another reason that I like this book. I highly recommend reading this one if you haven't already, you will enjoy the many adventures you have in trying to get civilization back to normal.

Demian's Thoughts: I really couldn't help but enjoy this book; I have a weakness for end-of-civilization science fiction tales, and this adventure is based on a rather entertaining premise. Although, like the rest of the series, the book frequently stretches credibility and dives head-first into the realm of silliness, I nonetheless found it a fun read. It's one of Richard Brightfield's best works. The book is also something of a landmark in the series: it's the first to feature a gradient color on the cover in place of the traditional all-white look. I'm a little baffled as to why this new look includes the phrase "You're the star of more than 21 endings," though; the book has exactly 21 endings, so using the phrase "more than" isn't exactly accurate. Oh well!
