R-Alex-J's Thoughts: |
Two great FF authors are working together. It works. The first part is a normal urban adventure. Where's your stuff? Don't worry, it will all be important. Some encounters are more memorable than others, but the owners of the pig slaughterhouse are very reasonable employers. Once you get your stuff, you can go on a series of mini-quests. Personally, I think this move is a standard that many gamebooks can learn from. Some adventures don't seem thought through; one overlaps with another one to the point that I'm not sure which one I've completed. Another relies on you gathering clues, but being an FF book of course you will search as hard as possible, so of course you'd get the best outcome. However, helping witches and caravans is a great experience. The links to other books feel nostalgic and I like it. It almost feels natural. Oh, and the Guildmaster Jeskan Stovec is very familiar. Good job! Now, both of you, Jackson and Green, can we have more books from you? |
