Guillermo's Thoughts:

This book (which takes place sometime around Star Wars Episode II, and includes Obi-Wan Kenobi as your companion) is pretty weak. There is only one correct choice at each point, meaning that choosing wrong automatically leads to failure. A gamebook designed like this is not inherently bad - The First Journey in the Animorphs Alternamorphs series, for example, uses a similar design to good effect. However, in this adventure it is almost always obvious what the correct choice is, which makes the experience unengaging. The pointlessness of the gameplay could be forgiven if the story was interesting or innovative, but it is actually nothing more than a rather bad junior Star Wars novel. Overall, this is definitely a far cry from Choose Your Own Star Wars Adventure, or even The Lost Legion in the American The Clone Wars: Decide Your Destiny series. You can skip it without regret.

knifebat's Thoughts:

A Han & Chewie Adventure book was a little strange in the choices you had to pick because you were choosing results. This one is back to the normal so it didn't feel awkward.

The story telling I think is well written and pretty much what you would expect from the Anakin and Obi-Wan dynamic which consists of two things: The two bickering at each other and some Jedi lessons. I enjoyed the Jedi lessons but I didn't care for the bickering.

There is quite a bit of action, but honestly those parts bored me, because it reminded me of the action in episodes 1, 2, and 3. If you liked those films, then this book should be right up your alley.

The reason to get this book is if you're really into Star Wars and game books. As a game book I think this one is better than the Han & Chewie one because that one is a bit awkward in the choices. Story telling wise I prefer the Han & Chewie one because I don't care for teenage Anakin or young Obi-Wan.

The story for this one is not bad, it was nice to see the massive space station "The Wheel" which I remember from the vintage Star Wars Marvel/Dark Horse comic books. There is a surprise ending which may insult some people and ruin the whole experience for them; personally I'm not sure if I can call it clever or way too far fetched. All in all it was an enjoyable read, although I am leaning towards recommending A Han & Chewie Adventure over this one.
