Episode 5 of the Tunnels & Trolls Crown of Klade campaign is another brief affair - an interlude. This snack-sized adventure feels more linear than it actually is, as the right choices seem obvious. You come to Khazan looking for a sword - hence the title. As you'll soon find out, the smiths in town are busy folks, and your funds may also be insufficient, though it makes you wonder, as no actual sum is ever specified and your inventory at this point in the campaign probably lists a couple of jewels. From there, the story takes an interesting turn to end in two consecutive fights. Both of these opponents seem tough, but well balanced. I'll note that this digital adventure as well as the previous one, Sword for Hire, has not merely been "remastered" for the app. Rather, both are "based on" solo adventures by James Wilson and Ken St. Andre, respectively, but credited to different authors: Sam Riordan and Alexey Rybak. I've never played the originals, so can't really compare, but at least the introduction, and thus the adventure hook, is new. That much can be gathered from a glance at the original first page provided by RPGGeek. |
