Fireguard's Thoughts:

Like the other books in this series adapted from the film, Win, Place or Die adapts a few notable sequences and attempts to make them interactive, such as the opening ski chase and the visit to villain Max Zorin's horse ranch. Overall this book, like the others, isn't terrible, but isn't great either. Honestly it feels kind of presumptuous, expecting people to read 3-4 books when they could just watch one movie and get largely the same experience. The Indiana Jones books in this series are hardly timeless classics, but at least they tell their own stories.

Kveto's Thoughts:

The title comes from horse racing.

Find Your Fate switched from Indiana Jones to James Bond. However, in these books, you actually play Bond, not his young cousin (which would have been funny -- 007 running around with a teen-aged sidekick). The book is kinda based on the Bond film View to a Kill, with several characters and a basic plot lifted from the film (one of Roger Moore's worst).

I actually read the book as a kid before seeing the film (Bond films were really popular in old Czechoslovakia) so when I saw the film, I could see how some bits were "inspired" by it. The book is fairly silly with the highlight being Bond switching places with a jockey in a horse race. If you can imagine Roger Moore being mistaken for a tiny jockey, you have more imagination than me.
