These gamebooks use the format of the earlier Enid Blyton’s Famous 5 Adventure Games to create gamebook adaptations of Captain W. E. Johns’ Biggles novels. Each book is written in the third person, with the reader influencing the heroic airman’s decisions from afar. The books are accompanied by a variety of special items used during play. Both books have custom dice, maps, binoculars, compass cards and fuel gauge cards. The first book also includes a torch card while the second instead provides a codebook card. Players start play with only one piece of equipment, and they must keep an eye on their fuel gauges as they go. Many of the equipment cards are plastic overlays used to reveal messages in the text, and they are identical to the ones included in the Enid Blyton’s Famous 5 Adventure Games.
