These books are based on the popular computer puzzle games of the same name, and the basic gameplay is similar – Lemmings are incredibly stupid but can be assigned different tasks which they will single-mindedly perform. Victory can only be achieved by using the right kinds of Lemmings at the right moments. There are close to fifty different Lemming jobs listed in the rules of each book. Both books use six-sided dice for randomization and allow players to keep track of items collected. There are some differences, though – the first book involves collecting eight medallion pieces while the second involves amassing Victory Points and Mystery Points.
