This pair of television tie-in gamebooks was released alongside the publisher's Doctor Who Role Playing Game, though that game is not required for play. In each book, the reader takes on the role of the Doctor, keeping track of a few attributes and skills and occasionally using a pair of six-sided dice to resolve actions. Despite their American origins, the books are fairly true to the British show and feature some familiar adversaries. Unfortunately, some continuity errors were introduced in the first book because it was originally written for the fourth Doctor’s character but had to be hastily revised when the artist painted the sixth Doctor on the cover illustration.
