Guillermo's Thoughts: |
This Victorian-Era horror adventure has a more detailed plot than most gamebooks. Unfortunately, the author was not able to take advantage of the interactive format in order to convey the plot effectively. It only takes a few read-throughs to find out all the interesting details, so that reading the story over and over will fail to reveal anything novel. As a result, the book can get tedious after a short while. Things would have been better if the author had devised the adventure so that each new reading provides different insights into the characters and events portrayed. As it stands, however, the book - while not completely devoid of entertainment value - ultimately proves rather unsatisfying. |
