Guillermo's Thoughts:

(Review based on the Spanish translation.)

Because Eric the Cavalier is such an annoying character, this book makes you play his younger brother instead (though Eric tags along with you no matter which path you take). Curiously, a gamebook in which the reader plays Eric was released in the UK at about the same time as this entry. The British book is unspeakably bad, and sadly this one is not much better. All the paths through The Maze and the Magic Dragon are extremely short and the encounters are uninspired. The book never stops beating the reader on the head with its moral message, making the experience even worse. Frankly, just avoid this one.

Kveto's Thoughts:

This is the only one of these I've read so far and it doesn't tempt me to read another. I was not a huge fan of the cartoon series it was based on, but I am familiar with it, as it was the only D&D cartoon we got in the early 80s.

With six books, each one should focus on you playing one of the main characters from the series, in this case, Eric the cavalier. However, as Eric was the jerk of the series and usually comic relief (despite having a much better developed personality than either Diana or Presto), they instead make you play his little brother, who falls into the D&D world and instantly becomes part of the cast (wasting no time getting shocked at the circumstances).

The choices and story are pretty forgettable, making it less interesting than just watching an old episode of the series.
