The first Doctor Who episode I saw was a Peladon story, so I was excited when this book was announced -- it's been a long time since the Doctor has visited with Alpha Centauri and company. Not surprisingly, the book never really rises above the level of pastiche, and it suffers from the fact that its "artifact from the Doctor's past causes trouble" premise echoes the previous adventure in the series, but it's a nice tribute to a past era of the show. |
