DukeNukem 2417's Thoughts: |
I downloaded the RealMedia version of this game last night, and I have to admit, I actually thought it was a decent piece of work. Yes, the dialogue is cheesy (example: "Looks like the spam hit the fan"), but it's tolerable. The RealMedia version has a nice HTML-based track selection system, which is probably better than using a CD player to go from track to track. My only gripes are that Track 2 is essentially a placeholder with no real purpose, and I was sort of hoping the story would've been longer and more like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. |

Fireguard's Thoughts: |
I've got nothing against audio dramas, but this here shows some of the problems inherent with making them interactive, because you listen to what a T.R.A.X. officer is doing rather than being inserted into the plot yourself, and most of the time the choices seem arbitrary in whether they lead to success or defeat. The plot also jumps around violently at times, such as when the agent I was following was killed by vampires at a video dating service, I was immediately sent to a hospital where another agent was fighting a vampire, and I had no idea what was going on. Most damaging of all, though, is the fact that it just isn't scary. |
