Demian's Thoughts:

This is a fairly well-designed gamebook, and the science fiction setting is a pleasant change of pace from the all-too-similar fantasies earlier in the series.

Kveto's Thoughts:

This book kind of goes against the Fantasy Forest theme by adapting a sci-fi setting. I assume it is based on the Star Frontiers role-playing game, but I'm not familiar enough to tell. It could just as easily fit in the sci-fi themed books of CYOA or Twistaplot.

Most sci-fi from the 80s seemed to fit into either a Star Wars type universe or Star Trek type. This one is in the Star Trek type with a peaceful Space Fleet ruling over a planet mixed with humans and aliens. Overall, it reminded me a lot of the Endless Quest book 24, Trouble on Artule, with a school-age student going against a spy ring.
