This series combines classic volumes from the Fighting Fantasy series with the Sorcery! spin-off. These new editions of the books are in a different order than the originals were; for more information on the original series, visit the Fighting Fantasy entry. Nine different boxed set editions of Wizard's Series 1 reissues were released: "Type 1" versions had box art based on Wizard's new book cover art, whilst "Type 2" versions came in single-colour boxes with large round FF shield logos. However, the contents of each of the respective Type 1 and 2 boxed sets were identical (ie Sets 1 contained books 1-4, Sets 2 contained books 5-8, Sets 3 contained books 1-8 and the Sorcery boxes each contained all four Sorcery books. A fourth "Type 1" box was also produced as an exclusive for The Book People containing books 1-10.
In 2009, the series was relaunched a second time with yet another new ordering. See Fighting Fantasy Reissues (Series 2) for more details.
