Blackstone's Magical Adventure

This series, which was released in 1986, was the last of Tor's What-Do-I-Do-Now series. It was aimed at a younger audience than the previous What-Do-I-Do-Now series (Your AMAZING Adventures, Zork and Blackstone's Magic Adventure) but shared most other characteristics with the third of those series.

 1. America's Secret King
Authors: Milo Dennison and Lois Cantwell
Illustrator: Paul Abrams
First Published: November, 1986
ISBN: 0-812-56257-7 (American), 0-812-56258-5 (Canadian)
Length: 64 pages
Number of Endings: 10
Plot Summary: The discovery of a secret room in an attic leads TJ and Marti Linderman, the children of Blackstone's cousin, to try to find a previously unknown American artifact - George Washington's crown.
My Thoughts: This is a really, really dumb book. There's not much more I can say about it. The idea isn't very interesting and its execution is rather poor.

 2. The Secrets of Stonehenge
Author: Milo Dennison
Illustrator: Paul Abrams
First Published: November, 1986
ISBN: 0-812-56259-3 (American), 0-812-56260-7 (Canadian)
Length: 64 pages
Number of Endings: 9
Plot Summary: Tom and Alice Kingsley travel with their father, a history teacher, to Stonehenge where they meet Blackstone and search for Druids.
My Thoughts: While better than the other book in the series, this is still a fairly weak gamebook. Because of its short length there are a lot of abrupt endings, and the story never goes anywhere terribly interesting.
