DavidSky's Thoughts: |
This is an OK book and Star Wars fans will probably enjoy it. You don't play Luke in this book - instead, you get neither a name nor a gender, and at many times your character is very passive. Sometimes the story goes too long between choices, and endings can be very similar, but some of the side paths are interesting and give a neat twist on the familiar movie story. There are also a few endings that in many ways are more positive than the one in the movie! You can see my map for this book here. |
Demian's Thoughts: |
As movie-based gamebooks go, this is a pretty good one. It's fairly faithful to the film yet it still allows the reader's choices to affect the plot, unlike (for example) the hideously bad Dick Tracy Catch-a-Crook Adventure. The only problem here, which isn't much of a surprise, is that reaching a happy ending isn't very challenging at all. |
