Guillermo's Thoughts: |
The most prolific Multiaventura author does his second gamebook adaptation of a Jules Verne novel (after New Journey to the Center of the Earth). The novel being adapted this time is The Mysterious Island. Similar to his first entry in the series, the author uses part of the book to offer a somewhat faithful rendition of the original novel, while the rest is dedicated to his own original (mostly science fiction) storylines. Most choices do not ask the reader what he or she would like to do, but rather what he or she would like to happen next. The writing is more lively than was the case in Nuevo viaje (though still very amateurish), and unlike that book, there are no printing errors that render the book unplayable. This doesn't mean this is a good book, though. There is nothing really inspired that happens in the story, and the unorthodox choice format does little to make the book engaging. Overall, this is a book you can skip without regret. |
