| Guillermo's Thoughts: |
This book (which shows a strong Star Wars influence) is a major improvement over the previous entry in the series. The story is entertaining and the writing is fast-paced. The book is also very well designed: the author devised a fairly coherent, consistent game-world and made sure the different story paths fit logically within it. As a result, gameplay feels very strategic. This is different to the approach taken by most authors in the Choose your Own Adventure series, who would only use the branching-path structure as an excuse to paste together a series of very loosely-related stories. Moreover, while the book has many successful endings, there is enough variation between them to keep the reader wanting to try a different path. The illustrations by Alfonso Azpiri also add a lot of flavor to the story. I definitely recommend this one. |
