ntar's Thoughts: |
This book was fairly enjoyable, although I think the author was stretching a bit at some points in the book. The setting finds you as the son of an amusement park owner, enabling you to ride all you want at his park and pass the lines. Your father has been troubled by problems with his rides and attendance is down, and he has just broken the news to you that he may be accepting a job in California if the situation doesn't improve. You don't want to leave, and you set out with your friend Max to do some undercover detective work. The amusement park theme is very prevalent, and numerous references to rides match the names given in the computer game, so the book ties its license well. Most endings are good, but there is one ending where your own father is responsible for the ride problems, which he tries to explain was to make him look better, but it's really poorly written. Other plotlines make your father out to be a bad guy, like not giving raises or treating employees badly. However, all in all, this is not a bad read. |
