Guillermo's Thoughts:

It appears that the success of Netflix's interactive films has encouraged other companies to experiment with this form of entertainment. Epic Night is an interactive college drama which provides a refreshing change of pace from the usual speculative fiction genres that have made up most of interactive storytelling so far. I was personally impressed with the quality of the production and direction - the film looks as good as any Netflix movie -, as well as the acting (all the performers look and sound very natural in their respective roles). Don't be fooled into thinking the unusual choice of genre means the creators did not take the time to create an engaging gameplay experience. In fact, the film is set up so that it keeps track of your decisions, and which ending you get (out of six possible ones, at least) depends on the combination of choices you make throughout the entire adventure. There are two hidden scoring systems and which of the endings you get depends on how well you do on your two scores. I certainly had fun playing again and again and seeing how my choices shaped the story's outcomes. Overall, this is a very enjoyable film, and I look forward to trying other interactive videos from this producer.
