Kveto's Thoughts:

This is the last of the solo Conan GURPS book, which is a follow up to Beyond Thunder River which has been reviewed by Guillermo, and is based upon the Robert E. Howard story, "Beyond the Black River."

Basically, this one has you fighting waves of Picts in the jungle. As "Beyond the Black River" is the most sexless of Robert E. Howard's novels, there isn't even the female companionship from previous books. The book is shorter than the previous book, clocking in at 24 pages.

One annoying aspect is the PLOT WORDS that you are asked to write down to help randomize the story. If they wanted the story to be different, why not offer more choices, which at least helps the story feel less random.

Not great, but it is nice that they drew from the original REH sources rather than Conan pastiches. (Although it might have been more fun to try another setting than revisiting the picts again).
