Guillermo's Thoughts: |
I enjoyed this book. It contains three different adventures, which are much more substantial than those in Can You Survive the Titanic? in the You Choose: Interactive Survival Adventures series. Each of the three adventures is a linear quest reminiscent of books in the The Oregon Trail: Choose Your Own Trail series, in that there is a single path to success and a wrong choice will lead to failure. The book reminds me of the classic Time Machine series in that it includes a data bank containing interesting facts on the Titanic's journey. The visual puzzles are very simple for the most part, but there are a few challenging choices which serve to add interest. There are also a few challenges which involve manual dexterity, which I'm pretty sure I've never encountered in a gamebook before. Overall, this is not quite at the level of classic educational series such as Time Machine or Explorer, but it's good enough to stand on its own. |
