|User Summary:||You find a genie in a cola can and she offers you three wishes....|
The genie scenario is a familiar one in the gamebook world, and this is a fairly unexceptional version of the story. This book does seem to have a wider variety of choices than many other books in the series, but that doesn't help it to escape the familiarity of its plot.

There are a few continuity errors here, but this was an average book. It was the first Give Yourself Goosebumps book that I read. It's not an exceptionally enjoyable read, but it's okay read, if not a little too cheesy.
Overall, this was a fun read. Jenna, the titular evil genie, feels like the same character even though she is a villainess in some storylines and an ally in others. The part of the book which I enjoyed most was the way all kinds of bizarre rules and exceptions are introduced into the wish making process at intervals, facilitating plot twists and making you feel like you have no idea what you're doing. The climactic scenes used to end two of the three main storylines had an appealing dreamlike quality, as strange allies appear with no explanation at all.
Probably the worst aspect of the book is that the wishes you have to choose from are not particularly original or interesting; you are expected in several cases to make an exceptionally foolish wish("I wish I was anywhere but here!"),which is an obvious invitation to toss you into disaster.
