One small error thankfully doesn't spoil an otherwise fun educational book. A fun and educational gamebook which takes its subject matter quite seriously. This one has the reader taking on the role of a person lost at sea, and if you survive long enough you end up on a deserted island. The book uses actual survival advice, so if you learn it all beforehand you will have no trouble breezing through the main story without dying. One unfortunate note: the edition I read (paperback) has an error on page 64. The option which states, "search for fruit trees along the beach" is meant to point to page 101, but instead directs the reader to page 100, which jumps past half the book straight to one of the better endings. It's a shame in what is otherwise a really good educational book. |
