Item - The Oregon Trail

I'm no history buff, and I can't say that this title terribly interested me. I'm not sure why I bought this book but I'm glad that I did! Just as expected it has a lot of historical facts crammed in, however there is enough left to have three main stories with characters and everything.

In one story you are part of a family trekking on the Oregon trail. In another story you are the trail guide leading a group of wagons. In the last story you are part of the California gold rush headed out for gold.

Each story felt a little on the short side which can be good if you just want a quick but complete read.

It's cool to learn about history and all but my main concern was that this was going to be a boring read compared to my other game books. I was delighted to find out that this was not the case, I actually enjoyed the realism. And it was the realism that kept me in the story. All in all it was a nice change of pace from the laser guns and sword fighting.
