Carmen Sandiego (Mark & See)

Two books were released in this series by Golden Books in 1991 based on the popular Carmen Sandiego computer games. Both of the books use a red invisible ink-revealing marker to display certain portions of the pages, but only one of them involves the non-linear page flipping unique to gamebooks. The linear book, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, is not detailed here since I don't consider it a gamebook of the sort I'm discussing on this site. The other is detailed below. Both books are probably fairly difficult to find in good shape since they're aimed at a young audience and encourage extensive writing/drawing in the books.

Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego
Author/Illustrator: Not credited
First Published: 1991
ISBN: 0-307-22302-7
Length: 48 pages
Number of Endings: 1
Plot Summary: Three treasures must be recovered from members of Carmen Sandiego's gang.
My Thoughts: The idea of combining gamebooks with invisible ink books isn't new. Some of the early Dungeons & Dragons solo modules used the concept, and the Endless Quest Crimson Crystal books use a variant on the idea. I don't think it's a very good idea, however, since invisible ink tends to do strange things as it ages and, from a collector's standpoint, it's a pain to have books that are devalued when you read them properly.
