Several Fighting Fantasy books have been adapted into games for a variety of computer and video game platforms over the years.
The 1980s platform games were coded and distributed by several different companies as the series progressed: number 1 was by Crystal Computing (published through Puffin Books' software range); numbers 2 and 3 were entirely Puffin Books products; number 4 was the only game to bear the Fighting Fantasy Software branding (published by Adventure International); numbers 5 and 6 were coded by Adventuresoft (UK) Ltd and distributed by US Gold Ltd. Three further adaptations were advertised, but would never be released (Sword of the Samurai, Appointment with F.E.A.R. and Demons of the Deep.)
"Software Pack" editions of the first three ZX Spectrum/Commodore 64 games were also produced featuring the game cassette and the Puffin gamebook in a slipcase.
The 1984 edition of The Citadel of Chaos was advertised for the ZX Spectrum but the existence of a ZX Spectrum version has never been confirmed.
In 1998 a loose adaptation of Deathtrap Dungeon was produced by EIDOS for PlayStation/Windows PC. A huge marketing campaign featured a young Kelly Brook portraying the female player-character from the game.
The 2009 Nintendo DS version of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain was only released in North America due to licensing/copyright issues in Europe and is quite collectible.
