User Summary: | In System Wipe, the TARDIS crew witnesses the rebuilding of a devastated Earth and finds that an online game has taken on a life of its own; in The Good, the Bad and the Alien, an outing to the American West leads to predictable complication when crashed alien meerkat-people get involved. |
Demian's Thoughts: |
Like the previous volume, this largely amounts to forgettable but occasionally amusing fluff. System Wipe is the stronger of the two adventures, providing a bit of inventiveness in its MMORPG-inspired premise, but it suffers from signs of hasty preparation in occasional awkward language and sloppy editing. The Good, the Bad and the Alien is a formulaic sci-fi/Western with very little to recommend it, though I admit to being amused by a completely random reference to Blade Runner at the very end. As before, you're not missing anything if you skip this book, but it's such a quick read that a Who fan probably won't regret picking it up even though it's far from a classic for the ages. |
