drystan's Thoughts: |
This is one of the strangest game mechanics gamebook I ever read. Meant to be multiplayed, I guess, it's a complete mess! The mechanics are so chaotic and complex that I think the REAL game was to solve somehow (anyhow!) the book itself. And what about the plot? Why, ridiculous! It's not an Insanguinata Valley (a Bloody Vale)... it's a bazaar of the bizarre, a vale in which all the RPG/fantasy stereotypes have agreed to conclave. Permanently, I guess, since the book offers you the same foe over and over, until you proceed to another phase of the book, triggering that labyrinthic system of letters and keywords you need to solve the book. This book is definitively unplayable. |
