Demian's Thoughts:

These books sure manage to cram a lot of stuff into a small amount of space; there are so many myths and legends referred to here that it's hard to keep track of them (though they are all very, very familiar). All in all, a pretty good fantasy adventure, assuming you can deal with the literary shortcomings of this series.

Fireguard's Thoughts:

As Demian points out, the main feature of this book is how it presents a massive melting pot of various mythical and fairy tale creatures and quests. Thanks to the sheer volume of different encounters that are possible, though, it's one of the better and more rereadable books in the series.

Nomad's Thoughts:

I... love... this... book. Lost in a Strange Land has been one of the best entries in the Which Way Books series that I've read. Despite lacking a centralized goal or much depth in any of the paths you choose, the book manages to make up for it by cramming itself full of various myths, legends and fantastic creatures. Despite its relatively short size, this book covers a lot of ground and leaves the reader wanting more. At times it can be a little frustrating that several of the passages are so short, but that's the inherent flaw in a book this size cramming so many interesting aspects into limited space. I had fond memories of this book as a child and years later, having read and reread it numerous times, that same childhood magic hasn't faded with the passage of time.

If you can track this gem down, I highly recommend it. Even if its target audience is younger readers, Lost in a Strange Land is still a prize amongst a series that had its definite ups and downs.
