Guillermo's Thoughts: |
This fantasy adventure, written by Fighting Fantasy author Graeme Davis, is meant to be read by students of English as a second language, and is therefore quite simple. There is no game system to speak of (though the player is still expected to keep track of inventory, money and spells on a sheet of paper). There is also a map of the city which the player can use to navigate the game-world. The story mostly involves wandering around looking for the flower, and there is little creativity to the encounters presented to the reader. On those rare occasions when the reader is faced with a threat, it can usually be dealt with quite easily, meaning that the level of challenge is low. Similar to the Sorcery! or Lone Wolf series, the reader is supposed to keep track of items and events from book to book, though the mechanism is not used for anything particularly interesting in this adventure. Overall, this is a book you can safely miss. |
