jeremydouglass's Thoughts: |
Whatever You Want begins with a first choice that is interpreted as implicitly indicating a gender preference, leading the reader to assume the role of one of two cruel young socialites out on the town -- either Barnaby or Barbarella. Two interactive stories follow, each tracing the same night of crazy partying and romantic hijinks among the same London social set, but from two different perspectives. The writing is split about 60/40 between the two characters. Barnaby's story has 138 scenes and 21 endings; Barbarella's story has 117 scenes and 15 endings. The book has multiple errors, and unusually they seem to be manuscript errors with incompletely incorporated lexias rather than misprinted choice numbers in what could be a correct graph: * There are a pair of related orphan endings in Barbarella's story connected to the character Harvey (99, 100). |
