Nomad's Thoughts: |
To start off I have to say that I'm a big fan of the Make It Happen series and think it's a shame it proved so short lived. That being said, I found Carnival of Terror to be a fun read. Fast paced (just a few pages in and you have a murder on your hands) with a nice supply of suspense and just the right amount of humor (sometimes morbidly placed) thrown in to make it satisfying. While a few of the choices could be a tad annoying (including the ever annoying "Don't get involved/Mind your own business/stay at home" where the adventure ends after one choice... ugh...), all in all it's on par with your average entry in the CYOA series. In closing, while I found Master of the Past, the second entry in this series, to be my personal favorite as far as these books go -- Carnival of Terror is a good way to kill an hour or two in your afternoon. |
