Stockton's Thoughts: |
This book is just a hopeless, absurd, unfunny retred of The Wizard of Oz and Twister. The story is simply that you have to escape from a tornado. Here, your dog's name is Yoyo - two letters away from... you guessed it - Toto. Your character also seems to be some kind of prairie redneck - in this installement of Give Yourself Goosebumps, your relatives are Uncle Jed and Aunt Emily. Twister of Terror isn't much better in the gameplay department, either. Into this book are crammed the following random, aimless events: talking animals who turn against you (complete with horse who's probably inspired by Mr. Ed), the aforementioned relatives carried off by the storm, flooded rivers, paparazzi, rescue teams, Hollywood directors, storm chasers, rockets, flying carpets, and ancient curses. The storm is an ordinary storm in some threads but a sentient being in others. The book also has a very narrow style - one wrong decision, and you're either screwed over or outright dead. This book is too filled with cliches and bad writing to be even marginally readable and it's not particularly horrific or violent. Stay well away. |
