This is a very strange book in a series of very strange books. While its strangeness doesn't really manage to be particularly clever, it does have its moments and is a fairly enjoyable read. The mirror world section is particularly interesting. The game design here is also not too bad, being more sophisticated than usual for the series; sections are re-used creatively here and there. |

This book is pretty strange like many of the others in this series. However, despite the usual problems with an off-the-wall setting and style, it is still fairly coherent. It also seems to be slightly more original. Still using the same old gamebook cliches, it does manage to at least use them in ways that are enjoyable and worthy of re-reading. One gripe I do have about this book is that the illustration on the cover leads the reader to believe that the story is mainly about the evil robot when it really isn't. |
| Errata: | For some reason, the back of this book (on the first printing, at least) lists the next book in the series as Secret Agent Grandma when it should be Please Don't Feed the Vampire. |
