For the digital version of Caravan to Tiern, MetaArcade came up with a new introduction: As in Mistywood, you are still fleeing from Duke Ravacz' men, only this time into the desert. The original adventure picks up from there with two distinct strands: you either go alone or join a caravan. Both feature a series of completely different, mostly optional encounters. Some are easy, some challenging, but all of them worth experiencing. You might even meet a real dragon. The original Caravan to Tiern dates back to 1989. It is still available as a PDF, 64 pages long and recommended for "characters of any level, with no more than 72 personal adds." In my opinion, this does not hold true for its digital counterpart. If you've managed to finish the previous adventures in the campaign, you'll get through this one easily enough, at least after you've learnt to avoid the more deadly situations. Before you reach Tiern, however, you'll meet the Duke's head assassin, and he is a formidable foe indeed. 72 adds will hardly be enough. |
