Guillermo's Thoughts:

(Review based on the Spanish translation.)

This book's format is more reminiscent of Endless Quest than it is of other books in the Find Your Fate family, with sections of text stretching over several pages. This doesn't come as a surprise since it is authored by Rose Estes, who wrote several books in that classic series. This entry shows Estes can write a good gamebook in a genre other than fantasy. The plot is tight, the characters are complex, and reaching the ideal ending is more challenging than is usual in a gamebook of this type. This is not Storytrails, but it is definitely above the crop compared to most systemless gamebooks. Interestingly, the Spanish edition of the book includes the name and likeness of film director Alfred Hitchcock on the cover. Early editions of The Three Investigators novels used Hitchcock's name but the American Find Your Fate series does not.
