Shadeheart's Thoughts:

[Rating: 0/10]
[Recommended? NO]

What a sad, sad excuse for a book. The generally well-received Lone Wolf series has a completely disgraceful and entirely unnecessary cash-in with this one, the so-called "The Art of Lone Wolf". I'll get right to the point: there is absolutely zero substance or value to any aspect of this unglorious waste of paper, just as there is zero integrity to whoever thought it sane to charge money for this scrutable piece of work. All of the illustrations are abysmally rendered, with innumerable formatting flaws throughout. Less than a second of consideration was put into this collection's creation - and that's without even bringing up the art itself, which many have cited as the reason so many readers were uninterested in Joe Dever's books in the first place. Gary Chalk (or whoever convinced him to put this garbage out) must have been feeling especially pompous when putting this together - more time was spent engaging in self-congratulations than in creating something readers would have any interest in. Take a pointer from me: just because a book can be written DOESN'T mean it should!

Few would ever consider purchasing this to begin with, but to those who still think it could be worth a peek, please listen when I say that you are wasting good money on something that is anything but good. Avoid this at all costs. There is next to no artistic quality in the art itself, which most individuals aware of this title's existence will already (unwillingly) have a copy of in the form of the Lone Wolf titles themselves, and the art is ANYTHING but remastered. Whoever conceived this conceited little project ought to be ashamed; this is a truly depressing and self-indulgent waste of paper that shouldn't have ever existed - and certainly stands among the worst gamebook tie-ins ever to be released. ^^

(Mysteriously disappears into the shadows.)
