This series began publishing immediately after the first Endless Quest series ended on its thirty-sixth volume, and it is essentially an extension of that series in terms of length, writing style and layout. The difference, of course, is setting; rather than using the world of one of TSR's role-playing games, these books instead take place in a distant future in which Lazer Tag is an intergalactically popular sport. All of the adventures feature the same characters, but each title allows the reader to control a different athlete. The decision-making doesn’t generally have anything to do with the game of Lazer Tag, though, since the intrigue-oriented plots instead revolve around events taking place outside of the sport. As with many later TSR gamebook series, more titles were announced for release than actually ended up hitting store shelves.
Gamebooks1. High Spy
2. Danger, Second Hand
3. Invisible Rival
4. The Galactic Games
It remains a mystery to me why TSR ended up with a Lazer Tag license, but at least they used it to create some gamebooks; I can't really complain....
