Sword and Magic (literal English translation of title)

This ... is an interesting piece. You ... can have a permanent companion, or not, and both ways the book is written all the way through. But at one point you'll need the ... help of this other character, so all those chapters where you don't have him are for naught.
You, the protagonist is the Sword of this adventure, and the companion is the Sorcery (you know, the title of the book). The mage functions like a ... problematic ... version of an AD&D caster - ok, I'll be simple: he has such a long casting time most enemies will be down way before he'd release a single spell. I have no idea if this is parody, or hate, or "fact of life". You decide.
Oh, there is a twist compared to traditional fairytales at the end: you do not get the hand of the Princess. And the protagonist snarks on this with "Well, she wasn't even that pretty". And that's how this adventure ends.
