pinkfloydechoes's Thoughts: |
You get hijacked while in a plane to attend an Aikido convention in Indonesia by a group of freedom fighters that call themselves the East Timor Liberation Army. Although there is not as much Aikido action involved as the title suggests, the story is still rather interesting. More than in most other CYOA books, Richard Brightfield manages to go very in depth in the development of the characters, the story, and the philosophy of Aikido. There is the possibility of either eluding the liberation fighters, or helping them out in their cause for independence. I find it interesting that by staying with the freedom fighters you can not only read close to half the book, but you can also find out more details about the whole situation that I like all the "Master of" books in the series, and unlike some of the other books in this sub-series there are only a few "bad" endings. Most endings end in a satisfying tone. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have even a remote interest in the other martial arts books in the series. |
