Kveto's Thoughts: |
A non-gamebook novel. As far as I know, this is the first novel set in the "known world" of D&D which was eventually given the name of "Mystara". Although it was the first "world" of D&D, it was one of the last to get novelization, as the focus was on Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and others. It follows a story of an old knight who had a legendary fight with an old green dragon, one which nearly killed each of them. The knight is found by a young girl, who becomes his squire, as the book moves towards the rematch fight in which one of them is fated to die The book is fine, if somewhat unmemorable. The first in a trilogy, but it didn't interest me enough to try the remaining books. |
