KenJenningsJeopardy74's Thoughts:

I did enjoy reading this book. Seddon Johnson didn't write many titles in the Choose Your Own Adventure series, but I can tell that he has a lot of potential as an author.

I'm not really sure why this book is titled Alien, Go Home! In nearly every story route made available throughout the adventure, the soccer-ball-shaped alien creature named Gleeb Fogo is an entirely benevolent being, with no aspirations to conquer any world but that of the television show Wheel of Fortune, on which he much desires to appear as a contestant.

The book begins with you working with a friend of your uncle's, panning for gold in a Yukon stream during the summer. One night, the nearby crash of a cosmonaut's space vessel piques your curiosity, and you make your way to the crash site to see if you can be of help. Little do you know how crazy your adventure is about to become.

Meeting up with a cosmonaut of about your age named Petyor, you quickly discover that it was the soccer-ball alien Gleeb that caused the cosmonauts to crash. Gleeb is mostly an innocuous little thing, but it soon becomes apparent that the U.S. government and other less savory organizations are determined to capture you and harness Gleeb's otherworldly powers for their own ends. Racing across the country with Gleeb and Petyor, your story splinters into several intriguing pathways, most all of which center around trying to keep Gleeb from falling into the wrong hands.

There are some silly endings in this book; in fact, most of the endings contain a touch of silliness, which is somewhat uncommon for the Choose Your Own Adventure series. One of the endings is actually a little bit emotionally touching, though, and there are a couple of action sequences in the book that held my rapt attention for spans of time.

All in all, I liked this book for what it was.
